Thailand's Prime Minister survives no confidence motion- Video

THAILAND Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has survived a no-confidence motion lodged against her by the opposition with a 297 to 134 vote in her favour.
"Prime Minister Yingluck won the vote of confidence," said house Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont.
Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the opposition Democrat Party, this week launched the no-confidence motion against Yingluck with an attack on her government's rice-subsidy scheme that pays farmers fixed prices for their crops far above market rates.
THAI PROTESTERS OCCUPY FINANCE MINISTRY
The Democrats accuse her government of corruption and say Yingluck is just a puppet for her brother Thaksin Shinawatra, who is pulling the strings from Dubai, where he lives to avoid serving a two-year jail term for abuse of power.
The government has been the target of mass protests in Bangkok since it pushed a bill to pardon Thaksin of a corruption conviction and give amnesty to thousands of other politically related cases between 2004 and 2013.
The bill was rejected by the Senate this month.--news.com.au
